2021 Carol Award Winners

The Carol Awards are American Christian Fiction Writers’ recognition for the best Christian fiction published in the previous calendar year. You can see the official list of winners here. Two of the award winning books were self-published, which shows you don’t have to have a big publishing house behind you to create great Christian fiction. I’ve listed them all below with their categories and convenience links to Amazon, Christianbook.com, and Google Play where available.

Congratulations to all the 2021 Carol Award Winners.

Discussion Topic of the Week

Reader’s Guilt

Today I’d like to talk a little bit about reader’s guilt. What is reader’s guilt, you ask? This is all the guilt you feel when you read, including feeling like you should be using your time in a different way or even that you should be reading something else.

I often feel guilty when I read a popular book because I feel like the less popular authors could really use some attention. I also feel guilty when I read fiction because I’m afraid I’m wasting too much of my time. I never experience this kind of guilt when I read non-fiction books of any kind. I don’t think any of this is rational, but guilt abounds anyway.

Have you ever experienced reader’s guilt? How did you overcome it? Leave a comment below.
