Christian Book News

I couldn’t find any book news this week but I can give you the scoop on what’s going on here at Christian Book Finds. 2021 Is quickly coming to a close and as I mentioned before, my main goal with this site for next year is to provide more Christian book reviews you can trust. I’m happy to report that reviews are on their way! I’m interviewing potential reviewers this week and will choose a handful of people with varied reading tastes. I’d like to have new book reviews across all Christian genres, but more importantly, honest reviews, not just flowery promotion of the bestselling authors you already know and love.

So, you’re probably wondering how this will be different from any other book blog. Good question. The difference lies in the disclosure. I see lots of review blogs where the book author personally asks the blog owner for a review. Even though no money changes hands, it’s still very difficult to remain objective when someone very sweetly gives you their life’s work for free. My aim is to create a system where the reviewers have zero contact with the author/publisher. I also plan to require each review to have at least something negative so readers can get to the heart of the pros and cons of purchasing the book.

I’m very excited to see this program in action and I hope to introduce you to our new reviewers soon. Stay tuned!

Discussion Topic of the Week

I’m working on the review guidelines this week. It would be super helpful if you could tell me what you like (and hate) to see in book reviews. What information do you wish all reviews contained? What are the most helpful and the least helpful reviews?

Leave a comment below with your input. Thanks for making this site great!
